Hi im Tim aka Dj Myme.

Im a turntabilist,Musician,dj,radio dj,mix cd dj,battle dj etc based in LONDON.

I was a Glastonbury kid and i was bought up in the West country from the age of 2. I was your average kid listening to all sorts of music growing up from classic rock,jazz,classical,motown etc..

I used to love skateboarding and bombing around on my BMX i got into doing Music when i was 20 ish.. Although i didnt really get into scratching and turntabailism properly untill i moved to Edinburgh (Long story.. LOL..) When i was 22 i entered my first DMC competion and i got my ass kicked badly i enterd the year after and i did a little better then the year after i placed 3rd.

Unlike a lot of Turntabilists who quite rightly get really good practicing hard for 5/6 years, then start battiling. I was still in the very early stages of what i did and in essence i was really rubbish for quite a few years and really and truly shouldnt have been battiling. So i was learning some hard lessons by battiling which was super tough but it was a different approch to music.

As far as battles go so far i have been a

2x SCOTTISH DMC FINALIST 2004,2005..
LONDON DMC FINALIST 2007.

I placed 3rd in the SCOTTISH DMC FINALS in 2005 and i placed 4th in the LONDON DMC FINALS in 2007.

I was the ACCESS battle runner up in 2004.
Im going to start battiling again next year 2011, i have taken a little gap from battles to focuss on various projects etc.

Ok this should give you a rough idea of what i have been up to.

I have put out various mix cds four have been reviewed in HHC (HIPHOP CONNECTION) magazine by DJ YODA.

I have worked with various producers on both sides of the atlantic and i have worked with various bands as the turntable element. I have worked with west london based BEATROOT RECORDS on various projects including two exclusive download mixes "DAM THAT DJ MADE MY DAY" & "STRAIGHT FROM THE DUSTY CRATES".

I co presented "URBAN HOURS" on GU2 1350AM radio (GUILDFORDS FINEST RADIO STATION).

I now host my own monthly radio show "UPTOWN SHOW" on DEEPFREQUENCY RADIO its a hiphop based show taking in dubstep,d&b,R&B, mini mixes etc. Previous guest djs include: DJ WOODY (20001 WORLD ITF CHAMP,2002 WORLD VESTAX CHAMP0,DJ RASP (09 DMC BATTLE CHAMP),DJ CURSA (ANNIE MAC RADIO 1).K-DELIGHT (JEEPBEAT COLLECTIVE),DJ MECHANIZM (RUDE FM) to name a few. (Im currently taking a break from my radio show) we will back on air in 2011.

Music wise i was pretty much born and bred on hiphop but i also love GOOD R&B,Neyo soul,funk (nu and classic),Soul,
dubstep,D&B,Dub,Crack house,Jazz etc. When it comes to my turntabilism and my djing i tend to have a solid HipHop base followed with a bit of soul and funk. Im really getting into my DubStep & crack House so that will start to come across more and more and more in my routines.

As far as music and life go i try and be as positive as i can and stay as happy as i can at all times. I can be really crazy and hyper when i dont spend enough time on my turntables but im also very mellow and spiritual as well.

As you can tell i love my music and its th first thing on my mind when i wake up and the last thing on my mind when i go to sleep.

Alot of people do ask me where i get the inspiration from for my various routines and mix cds etc.. The truth is alot of inspiration can come from the smallest things. Such as riding a packed tube during rush hour or a conversation you have with someone. Alot of times despite what people think most of my routines (beat-juggles & scratch routines etc) come about by me just jamming on the turntables and i just find an idea and its like thats cool. Then its developed etc..

As far as musical influnces go.. There are way,way too many to mention. If its good i like it simple.

As far as the future goes im trying to get some mixes Aired on the legendary/world famous "SOLID STEEL" radio show (Ninja tune records). Im going to continue to work hard keep adding videos to my YouTube channel and putting out mix cds. Look out for various sticker campaigns promoting my YouTube channel etc which will be hitting the streets of LONDON Town soon. Im also pushing myself into the world of technology a little im goiing to get myself an MPC and introduce that into what i do musicaly. Im obviouly getting back into battles in 2011 and im just going to keep doing what i do until music is my full time thing. : )
