DILEMMA: CD vs Vinyl

i blend vinyl with mp3's and cds if you want to play cds then you must get at least 1 Exclusive Content.
you will find these in every venue you would ever dream to play in

everyone loves the sound of vinyl that raw crispness and when that needle hits that plastic its so real

im using both records and mp3s with virtual dj you cant beat vinyl just put the record on and mix away, im having lots of problems setting up virtual dj with time code vinyl however mp3s will take over i think

i just read the original post again, pioneer cdjs are they way forward thats what im getting when i can afford to buy them i already have sl1210s and virtual dj

Most raves clubs and events use cd decks as well as vinyl these days so the choice is yours, djs seem to get more credit for mixing with vinyl. MP3 shops are everywhere online so i think you would find much more choice of songs on mp3 these also cut out lots of middle men and your songs cost about 1/3 of the price.

I do agree CDJ`s are the way forwarding, when i hit the numbers in the lotto im bout to get that till then i`ll be using my 1210`s mk2 with M-Audio Torq, Great software!!!!

I recently was out in MEXICO an a popular DJ out there was using Serato Scratch Live on the MAC G4 (Now thats mobile DJing) come back to london an most good djs around me are using the same.....

That only leave one option..

All have tricks when used with CDJ`s

serato scratch its great and gives you good control most clubs will have already setup as standard 2x cdj's and 2x technics so buy and master one or the other or even both
If you want to do mobile events then to cut down on equipment and costs you should try hercules mixer with virtual dj its light and very cheap you will need a laptop too

vinyl is still no.1 & for me personally always will be but mp3's are cheaper and sound almost as good imo. serato is probably the way things will go in the future but in terms of what to learn for playing in clubs its either technics 1210's and/or pioneer cdj 1000's i played at parties around uk & its always that set up usualy with either an allen & heath zone series mixer or a pioneer djm 600/800

vinyl vinyl is king cd mp3 the rest are second bests
